Community Concerts
The Cullman Community Concert Association is beginning its 60th year
with its annual membership campaign that begins Monday and ends
Saturday.
The concert series which begins September 15 will feature The Hunt Family Fiddlers, “The Singing Policeman” Daniel Rodriquez, Red Hot Hollywood and The Godwin-Thompson Duo.
During the membership drive season tickets to all of the performances
at Wallace State Community College Auditorium will be available. An
annual membership for a family is $100, for an individual is $45, and
for a child/student is $20. Individual performance tickets will be
available at the door for $20. The headquarters for the membership
drive will be the Cullman Civic Center. For additional concert and
ticket information, call 256-338-7915.
Jean Dunlap, a long-standing member of the Association, said, “Our
main purpose is to bring a variety of musical talent to the area that
people within the community will appreciate and enjoy. This is a time
for the whole family to come out and participate. There are a lot of
talented groups out there and we want to do our best to get many of
them here to this area. Membership really isn’t that much and it’s
well worth it.”
John Thompson, publicity chairman for the Association, says the
longevity of the association is a tribute to the community of Cullman
and its interest in quality live performances. “Many members of the
Association have been involved and have worked hard over the years to
assure a high level of musicianship and entertainment for the
community. It’s great to be able to stay in the Cullman area rather
than to go to Birmingham or Huntsville and still enjoy excellent
performances.”
