BIRMINGHAM —
The NBC television show America’s Got Talent will hold auditions for the upcoming season on Dec. 10 in Birmingham.
The manager of the Alabama Film Office, Kathy Faulk, says location for the auditions will be announced later.
America’s Got Talent is a talent show with a format similar to American Idol, but the competitors display a variety of talents, not just singing.
Faulk said the show is looking for all types of talent including singers, dancers, magicians, stand-up comedians and variety acts like sword swallowers and animal trainers. Those interested in auditioning can pre-register at the show’s Website at http://americasgottalentauditions.com .
Faulk said this is another opportunity for Alabama to showcase its talent after the success of past contestants from the state on shows like American Idol and Food Network Star.
