Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes

CULLMAN — Jackie Kilpatrick, West Point Baptist Church, with over 1,000 Operation Christmas Child (OCC) packed shoeboxes. Mrs. Kilpatrick's goal is for her church to pack over 1,300 boxes with gifts for deserving children all over the world.

The boxes will be carried to the Cullman OCC Relay Center at Christ Covenant Presbyterian Church in Cullman. Church members and individuals over Cullman County will begin carrying their shoeboxes to the relay center Monday, Nov. 12 until 10 a.m., Monday, Nov. 19. The shoeboxes will be shipped to the OCC distribution center in Atlanta where the gospel message will be placed in each box and sent around the world.

Several area churches are planning OCC Shoebox Packing Parties. Christ Covenant Presbyterian Church and East Side Baptist Church are joining together to have a pizza and shoebox packing party on Sunday, Nov. 11.

Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan's Purse. Since this non-denominational, Christian, mission project started in 1993, over 95 million gift filled boxes have been given to children in over 100 countries.
