CULLMAN —
The 2012 Cullman County Water Festival Committee held a Water Festival Logo Contest for all fourth graders attending the Water Festival that will be held on March 16, 2012 at Wallace State Community College in Hanceville. The winning logo will be printed on every T-shirt worn by students, teachers and volunteers at the Water Festival. The winner is Collin Leathers from Holly Pond Elementary School. He received a $100 savings bond from Premier Bank and his teacher received a $100 Gift Card for school supplies. Runner up is Emma Hallmark from West Point Intermediate School. She received a $50 savings bond from Premier Bank and her teacher received a $25 Gift Card for school supplies.

Verizon Wireless donates to Victims Services of Cullman, Inc.
In celebration of Mother’s Day, Verizon Wireless delivered roses to survivors in domestic violence shelters across the state. Each flower delivery was accompanied by a HopeLine grant to support ongoing victim services at the shelter, with grants totaling $7,500.

The Cullman Pilot Club’s 20th annual Administrative Professionals’ Day Luncheon and Fashion Show turned out to be quite a success this year. Held at the McGukin Civic Center Wednesday, April 25, it had 400 in attendance. Miss Alabama 2011, Courtney Porter, was mistress of ceremonies.
