CULLMAN —
VFW Post 2214 recently presented an American flag to Jane Neal. This flag will be taken to the Floyd E. “Tut” Fann Veteran's Home in Huntsville each week for a church service. Like many Americans, Jane Neal feels it is an honor to serve her country. Her 36 years of teaching school have helped many young boys and girls learn the greatness of their country, but also the responsibility of maintaining it's greatness. She has instilled in them the responsibility of civic pride and to continue studying it's history. They have learned the price of freedom and that freedom isn't free. Respecting those who served and those who continue to serve have been a priority in her classroom. Visiting veteran hospitals and veterans' homes continue to be a priority even though she is no longer serving in her classroom. Ms. Neal travels 100 miles a week — that’s 5,200 miles a year, to work with these veterans.
