CULLMAN — Sadie Young grew this 15-pound cabbage on her grandparents’ farm. Her grandparents are Edwin and Barbara Carter. Sadie is a third-grade student at West Elementary School. The Bonnie Plant farm gave each third grader a cabbage plant, so Sadie planted hers and used compost and chicken fertilizer. She is the daughter of Kim and Curt Young of Cullman.
