CULLMAN — Jewel Keller and Lonnie Dison were elected Valentine King and Queen at the Baileyton Senior Citizen Center for the year 2012. They were crowned by outgoing king and queen, Donald and Wanda Clay. Mrs. Keller and Mr. Dison were treated to a delicious meal and lots of well wishers for the day. Mrs. Keller is 93 years old. She is the oldest member of the center. Officers for 2012 are Myra Martin, president; Burtis Gilley, vice president; and Rebecca Sumner, secretary/treasurer.

Verizon Wireless donates to Victims Services of Cullman, Inc.
In celebration of Mother’s Day, Verizon Wireless delivered roses to survivors in domestic violence shelters across the state. Each flower delivery was accompanied by a HopeLine grant to support ongoing victim services at the shelter, with grants totaling $7,500.

The Cullman Pilot Club’s 20th annual Administrative Professionals’ Day Luncheon and Fashion Show turned out to be quite a success this year. Held at the McGukin Civic Center Wednesday, April 25, it had 400 in attendance. Miss Alabama 2011, Courtney Porter, was mistress of ceremonies.
