CULLMAN — Margaret Richter spoke to the members of the Cullman County Historical Society about the renovation project which “reclaimed” the Ruehl building several years ago. Members of the Ruehl family were present and spoke about the history of the building over the past century. Fred Abt recalled that the building housed an old hearse when he was a kid growing up in the neighborhood that scared him so he made a wide berth whenever he neared that part of the building. Mrs. Richter made note of the fact that the podium she was using was handmade by George Stiefelmeyer long ago.
