Lions Club members from District 34-A will welcome Brian E. Sheehan, International Director of Lions Clubs International, the world’s largest service club organization. Sheehan, from Bird Island, MN, will address the Lions during their District Convention on March 9-10, 2012 at the McGukin Civic Center in Cullman. Fifty-three Lions Clubs in the northern third of Alabama are represented in District 34-A.
Lions Clubs International is the world’s largest service club organization with more than 1.3 million members in 45,000 clubs in more than 200 countries and geographic areas. In addition to its efforts toward conquering blindness, the organization has made a strong commitment to community service and helping youth throughout the world. Verizon Wireless donates to Victims Services of Cullman, Inc.
In celebration of Mother’s Day, Verizon Wireless delivered roses to survivors in domestic violence shelters across the state. Each flower delivery was accompanied by a HopeLine grant to support ongoing victim services at the shelter, with grants totaling $7,500.

The Cullman Pilot Club’s 20th annual Administrative Professionals’ Day Luncheon and Fashion Show turned out to be quite a success this year. Held at the McGukin Civic Center Wednesday, April 25, it had 400 in attendance. Miss Alabama 2011, Courtney Porter, was mistress of ceremonies.
