Roger and Wanza Akridge of Cullman announce the engagement of their daughter, Elizabeth Leigh Akridge, to Matthew Hart, son of Robert and Gloria Hart of Weaver.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Melvin and Juanita Bishop and the late L.D. and LaRue Akridge, all of Boaz.
Ms. Akridge is a graduate of Cullman High School. She attended Wallace State Community College. She is a 2011 cum laude graduate of Jacksonville State University, where she earned a bachelor of science degree in early childhood education.
The prospective groom is the grandson of Janet Hart of Jacksonville, Alabama.
Mr. Hart is a graduate of Weaver High School. He attended Gadsden State Community College.
The wedding is planned for 2 p.m. Dec. 15, 2012, at Lake Guntersville State Park Lodge.
