Sornsin - Osborne engagement


CULLMAN — Dr. James M. Sornsin and Mrs. Karol P. Sornsin of Cullman announce the engagement of their daughter, Kristen Michelle Sornsin, to Joshua Marvin Osborne, son of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Osborne of Alexander City.

Miss Sornsin is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Earl W. Sornsin of Fargo, North Dakota, and Mrs. Magdaline Moody Vardaman and the late Hunter W. Vardaman II of Alexander City. She graduated from Birmingham-Southern College in 2007, where she was a member of Kappa Delta sorority. She received her master’s degree in 2008 from Central European University in Budapest, Hungary, and is a 2012 graduate of the University of Alabama School of Law. She is employed as a federal clerk for the Honorable Robert E. Propst in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Alabama.

Mr. Osborne is the grandson of the late Mr. Thomas C. Osborne and Ms. Helen Marie Goetz of Owensboro and Rome, Kentucky, and Mrs. Pauline Clark and the late Harold Clark of St. Petersburg, Florida. He graduated from Auburn University in 2008, where he was active in the Navy ROTC program. He is a graduate of the Naval Officer Candidate School in Newport, Rhode Island. He attended Troy University for his master’s degree. He is employed with the Birmingham Police Department.

The wedding will be held October 20, 2012, at 3:30 p.m. in St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in Alexander City, Alabama. The reception will follow at the Stables at Russell Crossroads on Lake Martin.
