CULLMAN —
Dr. and Mrs. Shane Whitehead of Muscle Shoals, Alabama, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Jessica Ann Whitehead, to Jordan Akin, son of Lillian Akin of Florence, Alabama, and Ken Akin of Spring Hill, Florida.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Harris of Cullman, Alabama, and Tommy Whitehead of Muscle Shoals, Alabama, and the late Sheila Whitehead. Miss Whitehead is the great-granddaughter of Lacie Harris and the late Eldridge Harris of Cullman, Alabama, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert McAnnally of Garden City, Alabama, and Buice Whitehead and the late Annette Whitehead of Hackleburg, Alabama.
Miss Whitehead is a graduate of Muscle Shoals High School and is presently a pre-pharmacy student at the University of North Alabama, Florence, and is employed as a certified pharmacy technician at Village Drugs, Muscle Shoals.
The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Fowler Akin of Florence and Mary Lou Romo of Mission Viejo, California, and Lawrence Romo of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico.
Mr. Akin is a graduate of Florence High School and is pursuing a degree in business administration at the University of North Alabama, Florence, and is employed as a sales associate at Shoals Outdoor Sports, Tuscumbia, Alabama.
A sunset beach wedding is planned for Aug. 4, 2012, at Fort Morgan, Alabama.
