Mack “Buddy” Smith Jr. and Sharon Kaye Smith of Cullman announce the engagement of their daughter, Cortney Jade Smith, to Brian Phillips Lacy, son of Phil and Melinda Lacy of Lubbock, Texas.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mack and Roberta Agnes Smith of Cullman and the late Oscar Junior “O.J.” and Eddie Mae Rodgers of Cullman.
Miss Smith is a 2005 graduate of Cullman High School, and a graduate of the University of Alabama, with a bachelor of science degree in finance (2009), and a master’s degree in human environmental sciences. She is currently employed with member services at Cullman Electric Cooperative.
The prospective groom is the grandson of Jane Anderson of Llano, Calif., and the late Roy Anderson, and the late Milo and Mary-Paul Lacy of Claremont, Calif.
Mr. Lacy is a 1995 graduate of Elsik High School in Houston, Texas, and a 2000 graduate of Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas. He earned a bachelor of arts degree in journalism. He is presently employed as communications manager at Cullman Electric Cooperative.
The wedding is planned for 5 p.m. May 17, 2013, at Cullman First United Methodist Church.
