CULLMAN —
Marilyn Rice and Mike Rice, both of Corner, Ala., announce the engagement of their daughter, Candace Brooke Rice, to Justin Steven Murphree, son of Dr. Steven and Alisa Murphree of Cullman.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Dois and Elee Brooks of Corner.
Ms. Rice is a 2007 graduate of Corner High School and a 2011 graduate of Auburn University, where she earned a bachelor of science degree in development and family studies. She is co-owner of Elle Boutique in Gardendale, Ala.
The prospective groom is the grandson of Therman and Jean Murphree of Holly Pond and Elmas Howlett and the late Betty Howlett.
Mr. Murphree is a 2004 graduate of Cullman High School and a 2009 graduate of Auburn University, where he received a bachelor of science degree in landscape horticulture. He is the owner of Down Home Landscapes.
The wedding is planned for October 12, 2012, at Musgrove Country Club in Jasper.
