More students graduate WSCC Fast Track Program
Weeks before area high schools held their graduation ceremonies, dozens of students had already made a big dent in their college education
Through the Wallace State Fast Track Academy program, 48 students are as much as a year or two ahead of their fellow high school graduates in their collegiate career. Many earned a diploma or certificate, even an associate degree, from WSCC. After graduation, some plan to continue at Wallace State to finish their program of study, while others will transfer to a university, where they will have a head start on their bachelor’s degree.
Youth Leadership Development Program proves successful in first year at Wallace State
The inaugural class of the Youth Leadership Development Program (YLDP) for Cullman County facilitated by Wallace State Community College proved to be a great success, with its students earning 21 percent of all scholarships and walking away with some of the larger awards offered. Overall, they earned more than $100,000 in scholarships.
Cline graduate of MS College School of Law
Mississippi College School of Law, in Jackson, Miss., is proud to announce that Jeremy Nicholas Cline, of Cullman, recently graduated with a Doctor of Jurisprudence in December of 2013. Cline is the son of Othman Alzoubi of Amman, Jordan, and Carol Cline of Cullman.
Hanceville High School performs at Walt Disney World Resort
The Hanceville High School "Bulldog" Marching Band members became stars of their own Disney show on May 2 when they entertained resort guests at the Magic Kingdom Park. They traveled from Hanceville, Ala. to the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida to take part in the Disney Performing Arts Program.
Thompson accepted for West Point Summer Leaders Seminar
Peyton Thompson, a junior at Addison High School in Addison, Alabama has been selected to be among 1,000 attendees at West Point’s prestigious Summer Leaders Experience (SLE) in June.

Go Build Alabama, an initiative of the Alabama Construction Recruitment Institute (ACRI), awarded Chris Howard with the Go Build Alabama Future Skilled Workers of America (FSWA) Award for the month of March.
St. Paul’s Lutheran fifth grade wins McWaniac Award
St. Paul’s Lutheran School participated in the Celebrate Science program at the McWane Science Center in Birmingham on April 17, 2014. Students were asked to build a prototype of an exhibit they would enjoy seeing at McWane.
Cinderella coming to St. Bernard
