Jacksonville State University congratulates the following Cullman County students who were added to the President's and Deans' Lists for Fall 2012. To be named to the President's List, a student must earn a perfect 4.0 grade point average, or all A's. Students earning all A's and B's are named to the Deans' List.

Nesbitt graduates from Woodberry Forest School
Robert Wood Nesbitt Jr. graduated during the 124th commencement exercises at Woodberry Forest School on May 25, 2013. Mr. Nesbitt will attend the University of Alabama.

The University of Montevallo recently named 750 students to the honor roll for the spring semester.

Paige Parker of Hanceville was one of 332 students named to the Union University President's List for the spring 2013 semester.

Local Auburn Club's first award of the Herman T. Pruett endowed scholarship
The first award of the Herman T. Pruett Endowed Scholarship given by the Cullman County Auburn Club was at the club's annual scholarship banquet May 30.

Cain of Vinemont earns degree
During its Spring 2013 commencement exercises, Bethel University awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of Liberal Arts to Christopher Cain of Vinemont.

Chamber graduates members of its 14th Leadership class
The Cullman Area Chamber of Commerce’s 2012-13 Leadership Cullman County class concluded their program May 16 with a dinner, reception and recognition program at the All Steak. Program Co-chairs Jenny Clark of Wells Fargo Bank and Buchanan Jackson of Cullman County Economic Development Office, both graduates of the Leadership Cullman County program, presented the participants with their graduation awards.

St. Bernard Commencement held May 26
St. Bernard Preparatory School celebrated the accomplishments of its graduating seniors in grand style at its 114th Commencement Exercised held on Sunday, May 26. With sounds from the Alabama Pipes and Drums Corps filling the air, a capacity crowd filled the Abbey Church as thirty-six seniors completed their high school course of studies and were offered college scholarships amounting to just under three million dollars.

Arndt wins the SM education scholarship
St. Bernard Prep School Senior, Veronica Arndt accepts the Sally Moore Educational Scholarship of $1,200 from scholarship committee member, Barbara Rasplicka. Veronica plans to attend St. Vincent’s College in Latrobe, Pa.

Bell chosen to represent Cullman High School at AL Girls State
Amanda Bell has been chosen to represent Cullman High School at the 2013 session of the American Legion Auxiliary Alabama Girls State, held on the campus of the University of Alabama.
