CULLMAN — Patrons and benefactors of St. Bernard Abbey and Prep School play a vital role in the day-to-day operations of St. Bernard. “Through contributions made to the Annual Appeal,” said Father Marcus Voss, the Director of Development, “our supporters help us maintain the financial health and well-being of the St. Bernard community. They directly affect our daily lives. Our operating expenses continue to increase because of utilities, food costs and upkeep, to name a few. Despite these pressures, our benefactors have helped us maintain stability in our financial ship.”

The 33rd Annual Appeal has a set goal of $350,000 which is split between the Abbey and the School. To date, almost half of the goal has been met because of the generosity of over 500 alumni and friends. Even in challenging economic times, both the Abbey and School are being sustained because of the contributions given by these benefactors.

“Every day I hear great stories through Facebook, emails and letters especially from our alumni,” Father Marcus continued. “They tell wonderful stories of how St. Bernard affected their lives. The Annual Appeal gives them the chance to express their gratitude for what they have received and helps us continue our work today.”

“Our alumni are also joined by many others who have become benefactors to St. Bernard,” said Father Marcus. “I know God blesses this special place and our benefactors are one more expression of what He does for us.”

“We ask everyone to help us at whatever level they can so we may continue to be strong in our work,” concluded Father Marcus. Funding received through the Annual Appeal is tax-deductible and allows St. Bernard to offer an outstanding program which has had a special effect on the lives of many. Donations can be made online at
