Moody Endowment Fund donates $5,000 to WSCC Future Foundation

HANCEVILLE — Hanceville Nursing & Rehab Center, through the Jim D. and Mattie Moody Endowment Fund, recently made a $5,000 donation to the Wallace State Future Foundation in support of the college’s nursing department.

HNRC was founded more than 40 years ago by Jim D. and Mattie Moody and continues to be owned and operated by the Moody family.

According to Michael Vickers, Administrator at HNRC, the nursing home has an interest in the success of Wallace State’s nursing students. “As the elderly population increases and as our facility grows, it is important to us to have a college that produces highly qualified nurses in our area, and we have been fortunate to hire a number of fantastic graduates of the program through the years.”

HRNC is one of the largest private nursing homes in the state, with more than 260 staff members serving more than 200 patients. Services offered include residential nursing care, restorative care, mental health services, advanced rehabilitation services, and Alzheimer care services.

“We appreciate our continued partnership with Hanceville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and the Moody family for their support of Wallace State,” said Wallace State President Vicki Hawsey.

Wallace State’s nursing department is among the top 50 nursing programs in the nation according to Community College Week, which annually ranks programs by the number of graduates produced.
