West Point third graders celebrate Earth Day

West Point Elementary School

CULLMAN — West Point Elementary’s third grade students celebrated Earth Day in April by planting a tree and learning about ways to take care of the Earth. The Cullman County Soil and Water Conservation District’s Administrative Coordinator Deborah Widner and Project Coordinator Travis Kress presented a program on how Earth Day came about and how to help protect the Earth’s soil and water. The District also brought a Nuttall Oak tree, supplied by Wallace State’s Horticulture/Agribusiness department, to be planted on the Elementary campus.
