East Elementary Schools wins local math tourney

CULLMAN — Cullman Middle School held an area math tournament March 9, which included East Elementary students. Fifth-grade students placed first overall with six students placing in the Top 10 and nine out of 10 placing in the Top 20. Here are the East Elementary fifth-grade winners:

Sydney Ratliff, second place; Ayuka Shichinohe, third place; Ben Hollis, fifth place; Josh Nichols, sixth place; Cooper Bowen, seventh place; and Townley Cornelius, 10th place.

Sixth grade also place first overall with four students placing in the Top 10:

Jozi Jackson, fourth place; Matthew Smith, fifth place; Colton Smith, sixth place; and Luke Andrews, eighth place.
