HANCEVILLE — The Social Sciences (Psychology and Sociology) and Human Services departments at Wallace State Community College recently hosted Lieutenant Matt Gentry from the North Alabama DEA Drug Task Force. He informed the students about current illegal drug abuse trends and trafficking in our region. Lieutenant Gentry has served as a guest lecturer for the programs since 2004.  According to Gentry, education plays an important role in informing the citizens of our community about drugs. Gentry stated, “I believe education is one of the greatest tools we have in law enforcement. If our children are educated to the truth about drugs and drug addiction, then it can prevent drug use by our children and young adults that, in turn, can change lives and the future for our younger generations.”
