  • Cullman City Schools Foundation selling books by Dr. C.E. Scruggs

    Cullman City Schools Foundation still has copies of “The View From Brindley Mountain: A Memoir of the Rural South” available for purchase, signed by the author. Contact Dawn Klinger at 256-590-3159 to purchase a copy for $20. The book is about Cullman in the 1940s written by '56 CHS graduate, Dr. C. Eugene Scruggs, Professor Emeritus, University of South Florida.

    The Hanceville Elementary School pageant will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 4, at the school. $25 for beauty division only; side events extra. Those who register after May 2 - $35. All proceeds go to classroom needs at the school

  • Cullman County Bosom Buddies announces formation of local ‘Helping Hands’ Foundation to help Cancer Patients

    The Cullman County Bosom Buddies have been a very active support group in Cullman for many years with a dedicated group of volunteers participating in patient service programs, cancer support groups, and fundraising for research and patient services. We are now pleased to announce the formation of a local foundation to help our community cancer patients that are in need. As the medical community changes the need for assistance has increased and we see it every day- that is why this foundation has become a reality.

    Scoring between 85 and 100 s are considered to be in satisfactory compliance and are inspected on routine schedule.
    Scoring between 70 and 84 s require a follow-up inspection within 60 days.
    Scoring 60-69 s require follow-up and reinspection within 48 hours.
    Scoring below 60 s are closed immediately. Scores may be accessed at www.adph.org.

    Miss Leah-Marie Ashley, daughter of Jeff and Sherrie Ashley of Cullman, has been selected as a finalist for Alabama’s 33rd annual homecoming queen selection to be held Sunday, April 21, 2013, at Bryant Conference Center at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. She is the Fairview High School homecoming queen.
