CULLMAN —
The Cullman County Sheriffs Office will once again present some great family entertainment with their annual rodeo this year Dec. 7-8 at the Cullman County Agriculture and Trade Center located on Highway 31 North. Our rodeo is dedicated to the memory of Jimmy Arrington, our former deputy who originally helped start the annual event. Each night's show will begin at 7:30 p.m. and is a production of the Lone Star Rodeo Company, which has been in the rodeo entertainment business for over 60 years.
All children under the age of 6 can participate in the Little Cowpoke Gold Rush, where they could find prizes in a pile of hay.
Ladies may enter the Ladies Envelope Scramble, where each night's winner will receive a $250 pair of diamond earrings or diamond necklace, compliments of Gold Rush Jewelers.
Three gents can form a team and enter the Gent's Wild Steer Race. Each night's winning team will receive $150.
There's more fun when the Lone Star Rodeo Company Finals starts with all your favorite rodeo events. The top cowboys and cowgirls of the 2012 Lone Star Rodeo Company season will be competing to see who will be this year's champion in such events as bareback riding, barrel racing, bull riding, cowboy tie-down roping, cowgirl breakaway roping, saddle bronc riding, steer wrestling, and team roping.
Championship belt buckles and prize money will be awarded to each of the event champions.
There will be laughs aplenty between events, courtesy of one of the best rodeo clowns in the business. Everything is indoors and heated, so bring the whole family out for a night of great family fun.
Advance tickets are $10/adults, $8/children 6-18. Advance tickets may be purchased at the Sheriffs Office located at 1910 Beech Ave. SE, Jack's Western Wear in Good Hope, and all locations of Traditions Bank. Admission at the door will be $12 for adults, $10 for children 6-18; children age 5 and under will be admitted free. Proceeds from the rodeo will benefit special projects of the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office.
