CADBC bridge scores fro Oct. 31, 2012

CULLMAN — The Cullman Area Duplicate Bridge Club played their first halloween "Swiss Team Club Appreciation” game Oct. 31, 2012. Winners for this event were overall first, Margaret Vance, R. E. "Doc" Golladay, Diane Marus and Bud Hullings. Second overall team was Ralph Boles III, Paula Andrews, Leon Galecki and Jeri Dotson. Third overall team was B.J. Schmale, Laura Taylor, Barbara Richardson and Terry Shuttleworth.

Overall in the B category, first place, B. J. Schmale, Laura Taylor, Barbara Richardson and Terry Shuttleworth (place third overall). Second place were Diane Brown, Pat Ross, Joanne Reddick and Betty Phillips. The other three teams won one round each: Mary Lou Henry, Julie McMillan, Becky Smith and Tom Smith; Harry Roach, Pat Roach, Wanda Huser and Sandra Blisard; and Robbye Binkley, Elinor Rider, Jane Happe and Sharon McClanahan. Special "Gold Dust" was awarded to all along with additional points in each category.

New players from Huntsville, the Scottsboro area, Athens and Madison joined in and were given a warm welcome. A special gift was given in a drawing and Sharon McClanahan was the recipient.

Bridge players of all ages are invited to join us on Wednesdays at 12:45 p.m. at the Multipurpose Senior Center on Sportsman Lake Road. Game begins promptly at 1 p.m. Susie Wilke will be directing.   • City vs. County blood drive

    LifeSouth Community Blood Centers and the American Red Cross will hold a blood drive contest between the City of Cullman and Cullman County from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Friday, June 14. Those making “city” donations may give at the Festhalle Market Platz and Cullman Shopping Center. “County” donations may be made at the Cullman County Courthouse and Walmart Supercenter.

    Scoring System
    The overall score determines the reinspection schedule and the use of enforcement actions:
    Scoring between 85 and 100: Establishments are considered to be in satisfactory compliance and are inspected on routine schedule.
    Scoring between 70 and 84: Establishments require a follow-up inspection within 60 days.
    Scoring 60-69: Establishments require follow-up and reinspection within 48 hours.
    Scoring below 60: Establishments are closed immediately. Scores may be accessed at www.adph.org.
