CULLMAN —
The Lake Guntersville Boat Parade Committee (LGBPC) is now accepting registrations for boaters and vendors for the 2012 “Stars in the Harbor” festival. This alternative to the boat parade was very successful last year with boats anchored or docked in the city harbor and the public getting to see the decorations "up close and personal".
This year's “Stars in the Harbor” festival will be comprised of two components. "Winter Waterland", featuring beautifully decorated boats in the harbor with many boaters dressed as cartoon characters; and "A Christmas Carnival" with vendors, games and activities on shore for the whole family.
Participating boaters will compete for cash prizes and trophies with the public voting for the winners. Boater registration is free and boaters from out of town can receive one night free stay at one of the area's marinas.
Participating vendors will have a 10x10 space on shore. Vendor space is limited to 25 spaces and rent is free this year. Spaces are filling up fast so register early to insure a spot for the festival.
The “Stars in the Harbor” event is planned for Saturday, Dec. 8, beginning at 6 p.m. (directly after the Guntersville street parade) and lasting until 10 p.m. Deadline for submitting registration forms is Nov. 30, 2012. Scoring System
The overall score determines the reinspection schedule and the use of enforcement actions.
Scoring between 85 and 100 are considered to be in satisfactory compliance and are inspected on routine schedule.
Scoring between 70 and 84 require a follow up inspection within 60 days.
Scoring between 60 and 69 require follow up and reinspection within 48 hours.
Scoring below 60 are closed immediately. Scores may be accessed at www.adph.org.
