CULLMAN —
The Addison Civitan Club will once again host the Pat Buttram festival Oct. 13, at 7:30 a.m. at the Addison Community Center and Park on Highway 41, just off of Highway 278. Begins with an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast for $5/person. At 9 a.m. guests will be treated to a live music concert, followed by hamburgers and hotdogs at 10 a.m. for those who missed those pancakes!
Nephew Mack Buttram will be master of ceremonies along with other family members sharing stories of the famous actor and will be available for photo ops. Pat’s western films and various shows will be shown throughout the day in the community center.
Clothes washing will be demonstrated using a washboard and Mayberry tribute artist, Kenneth Junkin of Gordo, will entertain with his rendition of character “Otis Campbell.” Also, a quilt show, yard sale, and buck dancing for adults - for children there will be ring toss, hula hoop contest, train rides, inflatables and face painting, along with other activities.
Free admission to all. Plan to see all and stay until closing time: 4 p.m.
Proceeds from the festival will be used to purchase handicap playground equipment at Addison Community Park. Info: Shirley Sudduth at 256-747-2779.

City vs. County blood drive
LifeSouth Community Blood Centers and the American Red Cross will hold a blood drive contest between the City of Cullman and Cullman County from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Friday, June 14. Those making “city” donations may give at the Festhalle Market Platz and Cullman Shopping Center. “County” donations may be made at the Cullman County Courthouse and Walmart Supercenter.

Scoring between 70 and 84: Establishments require a follow-up inspection within 60 days.
Scoring 60-69: Establishments require follow-up and reinspection within 48 hours.
Scoring below 60: Establishments are closed immediately. Scores may be accessed at www.adph.org.
