CULLMAN — Seniors may now apply for vegetable coupons (1-11)

Commission On Aging will assist seniors

For many years, Cullman County Commission on Aging has helped seniors apply for free vegetable coupons used to purchase vegetables from approved local farmers.

The State of Alabama Farmers Market has changed the application process. The only way seniors can apply this year is by submitting an online application by computer through their web site at

Commission On Aging will assist Cullman County seniors with the application. Seniors can call or go to Commission On Aging and the staff will take your information and submit it by computer to the State of Alabama Farmers Market Authority.

Applications submitted and approved will begin receiving vegetable coupons from the state around May 15, 2012.

The first 59,000 applications received statewide will be approved, therefore it is important to do this soon.
