Brooks’ Place will hold a Safekids Expo from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 13, at Sportsman Lake Park. Free for all children; must be accompanied by an adult. Events to include fishing, paddle boats, putt putt, snowcones, popcorn, super slide, moonwalk, and face painting.
Hotdogs and Pizza will be sold for a small charge. The Cullman County Sheriff’s Office’s meth mobile, ambulance, fire truck, and police helicopter will be present, as well as many other safety vehicles. New York Life Insurance will be fingerprinting kids and giving away an identification booklet for parents to have in the event that something happens to their child.
Numerous agencies in Cullman that promote child safety will be present to give away literature about safety information. Some of those include, DHR, BACA (Biker’s Against Child Abuse), Cullman Caring For Kids, The Cullman County Health Department, and more.
This event is a part of the National Campaign to raise awareness that April is Child Abuse Prevention Month.
