After years of working to complete a new ballfield complex, the town of South Vinemont will hold a ribbon cutting and tour for area residents today.
Mayor Melba Patton said the ribbon cutting will start at 3:15 p.m. today, followed by a tour of the facilities.
When the festivities conclude, the ballfields will host six games that night for residents to enjoy.
“We’re extremely proud of our sports complex. It will not only benefit South Vinemont, but the entire county,” Patton said. “We are already have people use the facilities from other areas. We know it’s going to be an enjoyable and beneficial place for people.”
The sports complex was funded over several years without piling up debt for the town. Patton said various grants and local funding were used to develop the complex.
The public is welcome to attend the ribbon cutting and enjoy the tour.
