CULLMAN — Rosemary Barfoot Kessinger

Rosemary Barfoot Kessinger was born September 9, 1934, in Cullman County, the daughter of Thomas Grover and Nettie Lucille Nichols Barfoot, and departed this life Thursday, March 14, 2013, at UAB’s Palliative and Comfort Care Unit.

A graduate of Hanceville High School, she lived most of her adult life in Los Angeles, Calif.

She was preceded in death her parents; her son, Marco Keates Contreras; first husband, Frank Gilbert Contreras; second husband, Grandville Kessinger; a brother, Jack Wayne Barfoot; sisters, Elizabeth Hope Arndt and Nellie Faye Barfoot.

She is survived by a sister, Carol B. Payne, Birmingham, Ala.; three nephews; and eight nieces.

Rosemary will be interred next to her son at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Hollywood Hills, Calif.
