CULLMAN —
The Alabama Elks Association will hold its annual smoking/cooking competition at the Cullman Elks Lodge (1525 Brantley Ave., Cullman 35055) Oct. 5-6. Lodges from across the state will compete in the Elks Division.
Smoking competition includes categories: Chicken, ribs, brisket and Boston Butt. Entrance fee is $100 ($25 each division) until after Oct. 1 - then fee is $125.
Individuals and organizations are encouraged to compete in the Open Division. The rules are the same as well as the registration fees. However, the winner in each category will receive 50 percent of the registration fees for that category with the second place receiving 20 percent. This is a great fun event to show off your smoking/grilling skills while building rapport with others. Earn your organization some cash and have fun doing it.
