The CSX Railroad will close the railroad intersection at 8th St. NE at Main Ave. NE and is expected to reopen Wednesday night.
The Cullman City Street Department will have a patch crew at Katherine St. near Glover’s Market; and a road crew working on 5th Ave. SE.

Cullman County Schools will hold a substitute teacher orientation from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 31, 2012, in the Central Office Board Room. This is for individuals who may be interested in learning what is expected and required to become a substitute teacher.
Instructions for a background review and other required paperwork will be given during the orientation. The fee for fingerprinting is $51.40, and the fee for the substitute license is $30.
One must be 19 years of age and have a minimum of a high school diploma, proof of graduation, a Social Security Card, and a drivers license or some other form of a photo ID. Bring to the orientation all of these documents.

Those wanting to attend the monthly Republican breakfast should head on over to the Cullman Elks Lodge, 1609 Brantley Ave, NW, Cullman 35055, as it will no longer be held at the VFW Post 2214. The Party will host its monthly breakfast at 7:30 a.m. (program at 8:30 a.m.) Aug. 4, at the new location.
