Banjo pickin’ and bluegrass music is set to fill the air Saturday at the Fairview Community Park for the town’s sixth annual Bluegrass Festival.

The event is sponsored by the town and admission is free.

“Everything is scheduled and we’re looking forward to it,” Mayor Randall Shedd said at a recent town council meeting.

The evening will begin with a jam session from noon until 5 p.m., followed by various bluegrass acts from 5-10 p.m.

Cullman based Bama Blue Grace, Valley Road from Alexandra, Ala., and The Ward Family from Tennessee are all scheduled to perform.

According to a release from the town, lawn chairs are encouraged and food vendors will be on-site at the event. Pets in the festival area are not allowed, nor is alcohol.

The town council budgets $1,000 from the general fund annually for the event.
