Mr. Larry Douglas Hamilton and Mrs. Sharon Parker Hamilton of Cullman, Alabama, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Katie Amanda Hamilton, to Dr. Jonathan Adam Ludwig, son of Mr. William Carl Ludwig and Mrs. Maureen O’Brien Ludwig of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. Jesse William Hamilton and the late Mrs. Roberta Reyer Hamilton of Cullman, and the late Mr. Robert Wesley Parker and the late Mrs. Lovie Hogan Parker of Vinemont, Alabama.
Miss Hamilton is a 2002 graduate of West Point High School of Cullman. In 2005, she earned an Associate’s Degree in Nursing from Wallace State Community College in Hanceville, Alabama. In 2007, Miss Hamilton received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, with honors, from Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama. She is currently enrolled in the Master of Science in Nursing program at UAB and expects to graduate from the Adult Acute and Gerontology Nurse Practitioner/Registered Nurse First Assist track in 2015. Miss Hamilton is employed with UAB as a CNOR Certified Perioperative Registered Nurse.
The prospective groom is the grandson of Mr. William Morton Ludwig and the late Mrs. Christine Wade Ludwig of Advance, North Carolina, and Mr. John Joseph O’Brien and Mrs. Ruth Kirchner O’Brien of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Ludwig is a 2003 graduate of Hopewell Valley Central High School of Pennington, New Jersey. He was named a Trustees’ Distinguished Scholar at Rice University in Houston, Texas, and was a member of the Rice/Baylor Medical Scholars Program. In 2007, he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Bioengineering from Rice. Dr. Ludwig received his medical degree in 2011 from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. He is currently a fourth-year orthopaedic surgery resident at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
The wedding is planned for April 11, 2015, at Rancho de las Aguilas in Birmingham, Alabama.
