A new industry could be on the way to south Alabama, as Gov. Bob Riley noted potential for a new Airbus manufacturing location in Mobile at a Cullman luncheon Wednesday.
The pending industrial announcement is expected in February and could bring numerous jobs to the state, despite the econimic malaise.
“In February there should be an announcement that has taken four years to pull off,” he said. “There are two places in the United States that build live body aircrafts ... and in mid-February I believe Airbus is going to announce a third and it will be in Mobile, Alabama.”
