City of Cullman Business License Office
Annual business licenses for all businesses operating in the City of Cullman are to be renewed during the month of January 2013. This year, the business licenses will be printed on bright pink paper to help increase awareness of breast cancer.
Cancer has touched the lives of many in our community, and across our nation. It is estimated that more than 200,000 women in the U.S. will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year. The City of Cullman honors those who have dealt with breast cancer, and wants to encourage our citizens to find out more about this disease, what the risk factors are, and what they can do to ensure that it is detected in its early stages when it can be most effectively treated.
“The City of Cullman wants to reach out and help increase awareness of breast cancer and encourage women in our community to talk to their health care providers to find out what they can do to minimize their risks of developing breast cancer or to detect it in its early stages,” said Cullman Mayor Max A. Townson. “We also encourage everyone to support organizations that are searching for a cure for this terrible disease.”
The City of Cullman Business License Office has mailed out reminder notices to businesses regarding license renewals. Businesses have the entire month of January to renew their city business licenses without penalty. After February 1, 2013, a 15% penalty will be added.
“We know that businesses display their business licenses prominently in their establishments,” said Mayor Townson. “We hope that each time someone looks at the bright pink 2013 City of Cullman business licenses on the walls of our local businesses, they will be reminded to do whatever they can do to try to prevent this deadly disease from affecting their lives or the lives of their loved ones.”
