UPDATED: Scattered power outages reported across the county

CULLMAN — Approximately 1,300 power outages have been reported Wednesday night across Cullman County, many of which occurred around 9:30 p.m.

Outages are scattered across the county, though most are centered around the Hanceville and Bremen communities.

Cullman Electric Cooperative officials say crews are on call and working to resolve the issues. Many linemen also drove bucket trucks and repair trucks home at the end of the Wednesday workday for faster response time.

Rumors of an outage at Cullman Regional Medical Center are not true as of 10:30 p.m., according to co-op officials.

UPDATE: According to CRMC officials, the hospital is running on backup generators due to a power outage. CEMS is reporting power lines down on Hwy 157, which may have caused the outage.
