Possible homicide in Fairview
By Patrick McCrelessCullman County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a possible homicide, which occurred in Fairview Friday.
According to sheriff’s reports, 911 dispatchers received a call at 3:20 p.m. that an individual had been found dead at his residence on Pearson Drive.
“We are treating this case as a homicide,” said Sheriff Tyler Roden. “We are not releasing the identity of the victim at this time to ensure notification of the family first.”
Cullman County Coroner Gary Murphree said preliminary findings indicate the victim died within the last 24 hours.
“He may have died sometime last night (Thursday),” Murphree said.
Roden said he could not yet elaborate on a possible motive for the death or how the victim was killed.
“We’re expecting an autopsy Monday morning,” he said.
Roden declined to comment on if investigators had developed any possible suspects in the case.
The Cullman Times will release more details on the case as they become available.
