CULLMAN — With sub-freezing temperatures expected for much of the week, the Cullman County Board of Education and Cullman City Schools have officially canceled classes on Monday. The start of school will also be delayed by two hours on Tuesday for both local systems.

The Cullman County Courthouse will also close on Monday and delay opening by two hours on Tuesday. Wallace State Community College currently plans to delay opening until 10 a.m. on Monday.

The City of Cullman and City of Hanceville have opened warming stations for those who may not have access to a reliable heat source tonight. The Cullman Civic Center at 510 Fifth St. SW is open today and tonight, along with the Hanceville City Hall at 112 Commercial St SE.

The Red Cross reports a portion of Interstate 65 around Cullman County may be closed due to icing at some point during the night, which could strand some travelers. In addition to locals, the shelters will also serve anyone stranded in the area.
