Superstorm Christie

In this Jan. 4, 2013 photo, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie listens to a question during an interview in his office at the Statehouse in Trenton, N.J. The first-term Republican has earned nearly universal praise for his handling of Superstorm Sandy, the state's worst natural disaster. But some within his own party called him out for embracing the Democratic president and hurling angry words at a fellow Republican. Christie says the storm and its aftermath should transcend politics. He says he praised the president because Obama was on the front lines helping New Jersey and he called out the speaker after 66 days had elapsed without Congress acting on the aid package.
