Stride Walk

The family of Cody Bales takes a moment in the spotlight before leading the Stride Walk for Diabetes Saturday at Heritage Park. Bales, a third grader at Cold Springs and Type I diabetic, doesn't go anywhere without his canine buddy Nash, one of the area's very first Diabetic Assistant Dogs (DADs). The Cullman Community Lions Club, a new co-ed arm of Lions Club International, hosted Saturday's event as part of its year-long platform to raise local diabetes awareness.
