Makena Butts

Makena's dress was made of construction paper (skirt), crate paper (bodice), conga grass (bodice), coffee filters (ruffle on back of skirt), and part of a rubber bathtub mat (center piece). "My inspiration was from my family's peacock," said Mckena. "In the competition we were not allowed to use feathers; therefore, I used unique and natural objects to make it appear as if I were using feathers."
