Authorities stand watch over a scene where a body lies covered with a sheet on Hwy 78 in Oxford, Ala., Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012. Police officers in eastern Alabama shot an assailant armed with an AK-47 assault rifle toward the end of a pursuit that left several people injured, authorities said. The pursuit began after a shooting in Cleburne County. The county is near the Georgia state line. The person in the road was killed by police after leading them on a high speed chase after shooting several people.
