Griffin recognized for U.S. Government service

CULLMAN — The United States Department of Agriculture, Natural Resource Conservation Service recently recognized Murray Griffin for 35 years of U.S. Government service at its North Team meeting. Griffin began his government career in 1970 with the U.S. Marines. Following his military service, he entered Auburn University and earned a degree in agronomy.

In 1979, Griffin went to work with the USDA Soil Conservation Service, which later became Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS), in Talladega County as a Soil Conservationist. Later, Griffin served as NRCS District Conservationist in Clay and Blount counties before transferring to his present Cullman County office in 2004.
