Farming 101 to be offered by the Cullman County Extension Agency

CULLMAN — The Alabama Cooperative Extension System is developing a program in north Alabama called Farming 101 for beginning farmers. The System is currently collecting names and determining interest for a class to start in February or March 2013. Sometimes just determining what government agency does what can be very confusing in addition to determining what crop or livestock to consider requires a great deal of thought and research. How do you plan to market what you produce? How will filing a Schedule F form affect my taxes? These are just a few of the things we will cover in this course.

If you have an interest in this type course and you are in the north Alabama area anywhere near Cullman, complete a Farming Surveyat http://www.aces.edu/counties/Cullman/MeetingsandEvents.php

You may also contact Tony Glover, County Extension Coordinator, 256-737-9386 or gloveta@auburn.edu for more information.
