Winston County 4-H wildlife judging team wins at state contest

ADDISON — The Winston County 4-H Wildlife Judging team recently competed at the State 4-H Wildlife Judging Contest. The event was held at the School of Forestry and Wildlife Sciences in Auburn June 26-27. The group met once a week with Jay Conway, 4-H Regional Extension Agent, to study different aspects of wildlife management. They traveled to Auburn for the two-day event and placed second in the junior division as a team. Samuel Gomora won several individual awards, including fifth in Foods Identification, fifth in Aerial Photos, and fifth in Wildlife Management Practices. For information about 4-H in Winston County contact the Winston County Extension Office at 205-489-5376.
