50 Yard Line: Player of Week
WEEK ONE: West Point's Luke Persall
By Justin GravesWEST POINT — It may not have been a perfect night, but it was good enough.
Sure, West Point High quarterback Luke Persall threw an interception. But the junior also led the Warriors on their biggest scoring-drive on the night.
With the game tied late in the fourth quarter, Persall led West Point's offense on a drive that ended with a 23-yard touchdown pass to Cody Thompson.
That touchdown gave West Point a 21-14 lead with just over a minute remaining in the game — a deficit the Raiders were unable to overcome.
For his performance in West Point's win, Persall has been selected as The Times Prep Football Player of the Week.
Persall finished the night with 139 yards passing and one touchdown.
